- Japan Occupation Essays
In 2004, the NJAVC sponsored an essay contest, inviting MIS veterans to describe their personal post-war experiences as American occupiers of the country from which their parents had emigrated. Read these essays in their entirety, including the three contest winners.
- Oral History Repositories
The NJAVC has compiled a directory of individually and independently held oral histories relating to the Japanese American veteran experience, archived by people and institutions across the globe. In this effort, we are proud to be affiliated with the Japanese American National Museum (and its Discover Nikkei website). This registry will be linked with the hundreds of interviews currently held by the National Museum, for which indexed transcripts will also be made available.
